  • With the way Jannik is playing, it's easy to forget that he only started playing tennis seriously six years ago. That said, he still has a lot of room for improvement, and the important thing is to continue his steep learning curve and not plateau at this point. Zverev, of course, is much superior in terms of experience and training, but could improve in the character and sportsmanship department, which Jannik seems to already mastered at his young age and few playing years.

    • @Effe L. Lmao, if Zverev is childish you've missed thousands of actual childish and bad players on court, believe me. Zverev is one of the most friendly and praised players on tour, showing your emotions on court it's part of the game, they're not robot, they're super competitive athletes. You've never put a foot on a tennis court if you say these things... Try again, next time you'll be lucky..

    • @Tao Paille-Paille At 19 years of age, Zverev had already beat Federer in Halle, won the St Petersburg Title against Stan Wawrinka and lost another Clay Final against Thiem. Sinner is overhyped. He has not even won 50% of his hard-court matches at this level. He is a good player but not worth the hype. He can and will improve but he is nowhere near Zverev was at the same age.

      GurudasGurudasIl y a mois
  • Sinner played like Djokovic in the rallies. If he wants to play like 2011 Djokovic, he needs to work on power and stamina. If he wants to play like Djokovic today, he needs to work on creativity and accuracy.

    EquinoXEquinoXIl y a mois
    • Sinner has some clear weak points: volleys and short balls. But he has time ahead to work and improve. Yesterday he wasn't good also with service, which usually is a plus for him. We also must say that is not easy for a younger to play against a player who complains, screams and makes drama in a childish way like Zverev does.

    pukulupukuluIl y a mois
  • 0:30 when zverev decides to actually be near the baseline rather than a dozen feet behind it, its insane how much more authoritative his shots become. They are incredibly safe and measured, but they have some real power behind them and I don't see why he can't try to have this be his go-to play pattern rather than retrieving from the back fence.

    bonzwah1bonzwah1Il y a mois
    • Agree, this is Zverev's true potential imo. I hope he develops it further, because he can swing some huge groundstrokes from both sides and dominate from close to the baseline with it. Much more enjoyable to look at too.

      DaptorDaptorIl y a mois
    • I think his comfort zone is way behind the baseline but he and his coaches know what you said and I think he is slowly improving exactly that. So give him a little bit more time and I think we see it as his main tactics.

Zverev only has his groundstrokes, but he ain't got no touch or the required speed and agility, not to mention his head problems. EDIT: Btw, Nadal has consistent and accurate groundstrokes while being offensive af, Zverev's strokes are consistent while being neutral, so he still has something to work on.

  • Bad matchup for FAA. Schwartzman is one of the best counterpunchers in the game. Against someone like FAA who naturally draws power from ground strokes, rip.

    • @Henry Plce "No"...wow, you realise, that his 1st serve is actually good, right? The toss is just preference, makes it harder at first but his timing is off because of mentality(stats support this, he especially performs badly with His 2nd under pressure), we can aggree on his 2nd serve being shite I guess, still good enough to win b2b 250 titles. :D

      Krischan04Krischan04Il y a mois
    • @Krischan04 No. What makes his serve suck is the fact that he throws the ball too high and takes too long to prepare the strike. It guarantees a fucked up timing.

    • @Dan Stanciu I did want to say it but I I couldn’t find the right website to show him where I got it from so I showed his serve rating that mixes both first and seconde serve

    • @Henry Plce It's not his technique (actually great 1st serve, one of the best atm), it's his mentality when serving, he wants to be Sampras and hit that 2nd serve ace, but with doing so he tensions and screws up. You know why he slices that bad? Because his backhand is an actual thing of beauty so he really doesn't need to, in 95% of cases. His volleys were good during the whole cologne events, although a weakness in the past, true that. His forehand is interesting, because it's not a winner shot, but a secure one with less errors than the rest of the next gen and other top 10 players...so quite the opposite of "sloppy". Never thought I'd defend mister "I'd put myself in there", because I actually hate his attitude which imo can actually be criticised. :D

    • @Henry Plce zverev volleys have improved a lot. And with his big groundstrokes he can attack to get some easy volleys He put away, so how he has a bad volley game? I think the last zverev game you watched was mix 2019 where he has the worst second serve and the worst volleys in the top 10, maybe even top 50, but now you are just talking shit

  • Zverev plays okay, the hard hitting nothing new ! But Diego Schwartzman literally threads the needle on court , has impressed me with his exceptional and extraordinary play this season and totally deserves a win ! Sinner is a great player too and one to watch , not forgetting Auger Felix , another great player, with a clean structured game, he too deserved a win here !! Oh well 😔 in overall great talent the tennis 🎾 pool has !
