  • Tennis Tv, I love you guys and I love a good Rafa highlight reel as much as the next tennis fan, but this is misleading. This match was hardly ‘vintage Rafa’ and was anything but one sided for about 2 hours.

  • Nadal raises his level depending on the opponent. He did the same at RG...his first round match was not a easy or a simple one even tho he won in straight sets. People were then commenting things like he's not gonna win this year...he's not at the level of other players etc etc...but come the final against the world no 1 who had not lost a match in 2020...beats him in straight sets 6-0,6-2,7-5

  • Pablo, and any other top 30 players, have enough capacity and ability to beat Rafa or Djokovic. The differences between them are the mental longevity and constant ability to maintain them during play. You can clearly see Pablo has all the weapon to beat Rafa here, but once he got broken, his mental cracks, and his concentration lapse.

    evvowebbevvowebbIl y a 28 jours
    • His mental game is shit! This guy has no belief, no will to win, in crucial moments, he flops, like a pack of cards, same thing at U.S. Open, from 2-0 up, against Zverev, he did Djokovic an injustice lol, for being defaulted, he never would have won, otherwise!

Tomorrow semi with Zverev will be interesting, such a weird year anything could happen. No one will be favored for London. Rublev has just a good of chance of winning it as Djokovic.

  • I am wondering how much speed Nadal has lost over the years, any numbers?

    Hamza A.Hamza A.Il y a 28 jours
    • I don’t have numbers but I can safely say he was at his fastest from 2005-07. Then 08-12 he was still incredibly fast but he was heavier because he’d piled on muscle. Probably was at around prime Djokovic speed at the time, so still fast. Then from 2013-2014 he was slower and since 2017 he’s seemed even slower than he was then, but I’d still say if we ranked everyone in the top 100 based off pure speed alone, Nadal would be around 4-6 range. He can still get the job done on defense.

      SJSJIl y a 28 jours
  • There was nothing vintaga about his performance Busta had him in two sets just from 6 5 nadal played some good points and Then busta lost his rhyth Nadal raised his game and that is all, if he plays like this but i am sure he wont he wont be able to win against Zverev

    Boris KosticBoris KosticIl y a 28 jours
  • Nadal is still rusty tbh, but surprised that Pablo played so well... his returns and service games were on point until 6-4 and 5-5.. i was in awe at his baseline shots and how deep he was hitting, right onto Nadal's legs even at the baseline, Rafa pretty much struggled a hell lot to read Pablo's game.. The dude was literally hitting almost 90% first serves in play and it was most often a serve and winner. I'd pretty much say that Pablo lost the 2nd set mainly due to the nerves rather than Rafa's gameplay.. After which, he couldn't hold onto the rhythm he was following in the first 2 sets. I hope Rafa plays better tomorrow or might have to eat a defeat, because unlike Pablo, Zverev can actually hold his nerves better than Pablo and win the match when he knows that he is ahead.

    Ashwin ThejusAshwin ThejusIl y a 28 jours
    • @conductor_ phurngirathaana who is the idiot now dumb frick? told ya that if Rafa plays like yesterday and gives Zverev a lead, he would capitalize on it unlike Pablo.. Zverev won in straight sets.

      Ashwin ThejusAshwin ThejusIl y a 27 jours
    • @conductor_ phurngirathaana Rafa literally was struggling against someone who had a slower service and a slower forehand, still Pablo took so many forehand winners in that game.. Zverev has a stronger serve and stronger FH/BH.. Rafa needs to find the level of returns he found in the 3rd set.. Or the unforced errors in the 1st 2 sets would make him lose.. not even sure if you are watching anything or just commenting by seeing the scorelines of all matches..

  • If Nadal stroke his forehand as 0.05 (Forward) and not like 1:16 (Horribly upwards) he would have win at least 25 grand slams until now... its the most accelerated forehand of tennis history when stroked forward.. thats a result of totally bad coaching in terms of analyzing you player unique potentials as a coach, and that forward forehand is pure unique potential of a left handed player, amazing...

NOVAK targeting first and second round to be sure and sealed number 1position for the 6 times in history.... why you think someone who hunting all possible record in tennis must risk big injury for sonego and not important Vienna 500 tournament???? Big question for you

      Trump AmeriTrump AmeriIl y a 27 jours
    • @Trump Ameri Lol. When did I say Nole was serious? What he did is the most disgraceful thing any athlete in sports can do: A high-voltage tanking. If you're going to back those actions saying he did justice to himself, you're simply wasting everyone's time out here including yours. Nadal fought and gave us an incredible second set being down 2-4 (0-40). What Nole did at Vienna is an utter embarrassment to the game of tennis and such actions should be penalized heavily.

    • @Nils Müller Yes, that's right, Stan choked badly, Humbert played tentatively, which is a sort of choke, although not via unforced error/netting the ball, he gave his opponent chance, to finish the point. I also think PCB missed way too many forehands, some by miles literally, he was wild as hell, I think he thought he was at Wembley Stadium, about to take a penalty shootout, from the centre of the pitch, that's how many forehands he hit, way out of the court.

      Paul JohnsonPaul JohnsonIl y a 28 jours
    • @Paul Johnson You can't compare that to the Wimbledon Final... If Carreno Busta would have won the game, he still needed to win the tiebreak. And since when is loosing two points in a row a choke? So Humbert choked, too, right? And Wawrinka, who leaded 5:4 30:0 in the second set and then lost the set? So three of four matches today were chokes? Damm, thats bad 🙄🙄🙄

      Nils MüllerNils MüllerIl y a 28 jours

    • @Federico Russo again u r incorrect in this: yes, it is detrimental to receive back generally but Nadal, whole tournament, tried to receive at baseline. That's why he returned terrible. It has not been Nadal's forte. I dont know how he turned Lopez and PCB matches around. Even in Thompson match he barely made the 2nd set in breaker. No, he is trying new things. He had modified his 1st serve, his 2nd serve. He finishes points much quicker with 1-2 punchs in particular Comes to net more often. Look at uso 19 final. He tries to take ball early and received at front in this tournament. Now, why he lost is these tactics are not in line with Nadal especially receiving at front. He should have received at back when things are bad and not insisted on against Zverev's missiles.. He should have done it against Lopez and Batusta as well..on top of that as mentioned in my previous he is not playing his usual tennis. Actually very mediocre. After many months. BHs too bad, lots of slices where unnecessary. Overall good tactics on HC but Rafa is not up to them yet so they have to work on timings and adaptation inside the match depending on the opponent and score. His loss is nothing to do with NOT trying new, complete reverse. I didn't say you hate or etc. Just disagreeing in civilized mode.

      Wreckless GWreckless GIl y a 27 jours
    • @RM MM And this SF he just lost proves my point. You can't receive that far back on HC to begin with... he already puts himself at a disadvantage and grinding the point from the get go. Just my opinion as a tennis player, that it catches my attention that he never really changed his game depending on the surface. Even his uncle said it so not sure why you guys can't take any opinions.

      Federico RussoFederico RussoIl y a 27 jours
    • @Wreckless G Read my comment again and pay attention there's no hate or anything. Naa years back was a huge threat to both Federer or Djoko... But not so much over the past 4 or 5 years... That's what I'm saying. Today he can only win a tournament aside from clay only if he avoids those two. That was my point but you all die hard fans can't take any comments anymore..
