  • This is perhaps the most ridiculous highlights I can remember watching. 10 points shown, everyone won by Stan and it was a close match. Are we to believe that Evans didn’t hit one decent winning point? Ridiculously poor effort.

  • Dan Evans is a solid player but he lacks mental toughness to go much higher. He might reach top 30 but I think that's his ceiling. He doesn't have a big weapon or something to take him much higher.

  • 01:40 Stan hits one of his signature backhands and, with nothing else loaded in the chamber, the eminently resourceful announcer says, "He just didn't see that coming." Everyone he plays, dear sir, sees precisely that coming, all the time.

  • Always enjoy watching Stan the Man! 🎾👍

  • So nothing shown of Evans winning any points? A little biased ATP. The second set went to a tie break - surely there must have been a few decent winners from the Brit?

  • I hope Stan uses this year to make some major advances fo next season. He's been shining in certain matches and then his talent level kinda drops off. Hoping that it's just taking him longer to get his tennis conditioning and mind frame back. I hope he wins another Major to put in his bag. He's one of my Fave Players along with Fed, Thiem, Tsitsipas, and Shapovalov.

    • @Unreal Shanker As a player who was once a two hander, switching to a one hander was the best thing I did. The power the angles are just amazing. I can't go back plus its to much fun to hit winners with my single. Thats just me. I prefer watching the beauty of the one hander and I prefer playing with one. Personal preference really.

      Nelson CNelson CIl y a 27 jours
    • @Ashok Reddy yes while one handed is getting old, many players use it and are really good with it. But since players are evolving and starting to hit harder, two-handed is starting to be more reliable as players usually aim for your backhand as it’s your weakest shot. i agree

  • Players with a single-handed backhand do not get points like him. Technically, backhand stroke is in more natural movement in comparison, but his is of some beauty. Really tough to anticipate the next shot. Little to do with Stan's backhand, & different from it, somehow Edberg's came up in my mind.
