  • Mannarino has almost no backswing on his forehand at all, and very little on his backhand as well. How does he get any power or depth on his shots? Low string tension and maybe a hybrid gut & poly string job? Very strange. Looks like he's almost playing paddle tennis out there. Great ball control though, and good depth. I just don't know how...

  • Who wins ? Mannarino or Millman ?

Nuno SantosNuno SantosIl y a mois
    • @Nuno Santos Anderson on a good day and on a fast surface he can beat any player because on his best he has a massive serve and plays high risk attacking tennis so he can control many, probably most of the points. Medvedev on the other hand plays more passively, he is more solid, he builds the point more before he decides to attack and he has a bad temper, he loses it mentally when the opponent plays well and forces his game. That would be a disadvantage against an aggressive player if that player has found his rhythm and controls all the points, especially if that player has a massive serve and the set reaches a tie break. Plus, they ve never played before. So he was going to play for a first time a more experienced player with a game style that has a small natural advantage over his own game on a fast surface. I'm pretty sure he ll be ready next time though.

    • @hussTennis I don't believe in the money motivation. When you already have millions in bank, I don't think you can steer out so much motivation of it compared to a new guy on tour for example. So he clearly has to enjoy playing at some point. And that is where I question myself about the "fun". It is purely subjective. And I do not mean he is playing bad, you obviously can not reach a final at this level playing bad

      KeyzerKeyzerIl y a mois
    • @Keyzer Prize Money $7,597,819 - he is applying a very clear tactic in destroying opponent game and energy. Also he is able to beat the ball very early to push the rhythm if he needs too. His cross court backhand is among the best. 😀
