  • I can see why pavic/soares lost this. They are used to clean doubles points and out playing doubles specialists. I love FAA but he had like 10 junk balls off his frame today which all caught lines and were all misjudged by P/S cause it’s not clean tennis. Of course a win is a win but they were thrown off today by 2 singles players who scrapped together this entire week and rekt a bunch of doubles specialists who were all seeded this week.

  • Great match ! Both teams played well. I must say as an Auger fan, this is the best thing that he could have done in his career . Doubles helps you develop your game further. His opponent today played loops, hoops and totally toyed with their opponents. So this should bring some extra variety to his game, as he is predictable and a long rally player. So this is a great boost to his tennis 🎾 game. The other team player great too!! Congratulations 🎊🎉🍾🎈 Auger and Hurkacz !!

  • Why is the doubles format so random? No AD, and a 10 point tiebreak instead of a 3rd set? There’s money on the line; have them play best of 3 with deuces.

    SJSJIl y a 27 jours
    • that was exactly what they had before. best of 3 takes too long and tv audience unfortunately doesn't watch doubles, so had to shorten it.

      socalguy829socalguy829Il y a 27 jours
  • Very surprising run but it happens that both primarly singles players team up and destroy the field of doubles specialists, including a row of former number 1s and 2s - Pavić, Kubot, Melo, Soares, Peers. Mate Pavic knew at 0:02 that was their best chance because both tie-break and super-tie-break can go either way and they did. Hurkacz was very good, despite poor form in singles recently but Auger-Aliassime was truly stellar in those points shown here. They like and respect each other, played without pressure (unlike the other team) and therefore were able to snatch upsets every match since the 2nd round. The biggest title after Grand Slam and their first in doubles (for Felix - first overall). Great story, congrats.

    • @Thiago Silva out of that collection? 'mahut, herbert, sock, granollers, mark lopez, harrison' ? They have won a collective 13 singles titles all together. One of them is the greatest masters 1000 fluke and besides that mostly atp 250. In doubles they have won a combined 100 titles, 18 majors, multiple WTF finals, countless masters 1000 and even the olympics. There is a slight discrepancy there dont you think? I argue that pretty much every singles Player combination inside the top 50 could become a cream of the crop doubles team an win majors if they intended to. Again - i am not saying they aint good tennis players or that i want to discredit their carreers. I am just saying that its way easier to find success in the doubles than in singles
